AAF Responds to the Afghan Adjustment Act Being Excluded from the End of Year Omnibus

(Washington, DC) – By not including the Afghan Adjustment Act in the end of year omnibus bill, Congress has not only failed to do its job, it has also failed once again to keep America's promise to its Afghan allies. We deeply appreciate the work and sacrifices of the advocates, including American veterans and many of our other committed partners, who have worked to advance this life-saving legislation. Most importantly, we honor the historic mobilization of Afghan-Americans, including many new arrivals, in support of the newest members of our community in the United States. All of these efforts have not been in vain; we build on them starting today.

The Afghan-American community will not return to a place of being overlooked or spoken over when our interests and our futures are on the line. Join us this Wednesday, December 21, as we convene to discuss what is next in our work to secure permanent safety for the Afghans evacuated to the United States and those in harm's way elsewhere.

We will not rest. We will not relent.

The Afghan-American Foundation is a national 501(c)(3) non-profit organization representing and advancing the interests of Afghans and Afghan-Americans through advocacy, research, education and engagement.
